Welcome
Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) is a voluntary, non-profit, cultural and educational community of Hindus living outside India.
At the heart of everything we do is the shakha (branch) — a weekly gathering where children, youth and elders come together for yoga, games, songs, stories and selfless service. It is a place to build good character, stay rooted in our heritage, and contribute, shoulder to shoulder with our neighbours, to the wider Filipino community.
HSS is strictly non-political, run entirely by volunteers, and free of any membership fee. Everyone who shares our values is welcome.

Values & character
The nurturing of good character — cultivating virtues like truth, compassion, self-discipline and selflessness. It is the cornerstone of a well-lived life, and the starting point of all we do.
Selfless service
Service to all humanity, offered with compassion and without any expectation of reward — from health and yoga days to helping neighbours in need. Nar Seva, Narayan Seva.
Unity in diversity
The strength of a diverse community united by shared purpose — not one that looks the same, but one that stands together with respect. Our well-being is inseparable from one another's.
The shakha
A shakha follows a gentle three-part rhythm. We begin with the physical (sharirik) — yoga, Surya Namaskar and joyful team games like kabaddi and kho-kho. We move to the intellectual (bauddhik) — discussions, stories of inspiring figures, and songs (geet). And we close with prayer (prarthana), offered for the well-being of all and for peace in the world.
There are no fees, everyone is welcome, and children take part alongside their parents — because the best way to learn good values is to see them lived.

HSS in the Philippines is new and forming — a small circle of families and volunteers gathering around these values, and warmly inviting others to join.
We now hold two free, regular shakhas in Metro Manila — everyone is welcome, and there is no fee:
Our all-ages family gathering at the Hindu Temple, Paco — yoga, games, songs, stories and prayer, for children, youth and elders together.
For children and young people, at the Crimarcel Basketball Court — games (khel), stories of courage and character, and good company.
Earlier in 2026, volunteers here also joined the wider Hindu community in supporting the Chant Mahaveer celebration in Manila and in observing the International Day of Yoga in Makati. There is a place in this story for you.
What we do
Our children's program — heritage and values through games, yoga, stories, bhajans and crafts.
Guided yoga and sun salutations for wellness of body and mind — open to people of every background.
Selfless community service — helping elders, supporting those in need, and caring for our surroundings.
Joyful festivals through the year — Diwali, Holi, Raksha Bandhan, Guru Purnima and more.

Our story so far
Every gathering is a small milestone. We share our news — new weekly shakhas, upcoming festivals and yoga days, and reflections from families who take part — as our community takes root here in the Philippines.
Whether you would like to bring your family to a shakha, volunteer your time, or help start a weekly gathering in your city, we would love to hear from you.
Everyone is welcome
There is no fee to join and no obligation, just a warm welcome. Tell us where you are and how you'd like to take part, and we'll help you find your place in our community.
