News & Updates
Follow the story of HSS as it takes root in the Philippines — the early gatherings, the milestones, and the announcements to come. This is a young page for a young community, and it will grow with us.
HSS in the Philippines is new and forming — a small circle of families and volunteers just beginning to gather around the values of Sanskar (character), Seva (selfless service) and Sanghatan (unity).
Because our community is only taking its first steps, this feed is deliberately honest. Below you will find the real moments we have shared so far in 2026 — including the start of our first weekly shakhas — alongside clearly marked slots for the announcements still to come, such as upcoming festivals and reflections from families who take part. As each is confirmed, its details will be added here.
We invite you to be part of the next chapter. Every milestone below, however small, is a step taken together — in the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, the belief that the whole world is one family.

Our first regular shakhas begin
HSS in the Philippines now holds two regular weekly gatherings, both in Metro Manila. Our main all-ages family shakha meets every Sunday, 9:00–10:30 AM at the Hindu Temple, Paco, and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Shakha for children and young people meets every Saturday, 5:30–7:00 PM at the Crimarcel Basketball Court. Everyone is welcome and there is no fee — message our pracharak on WhatsApp at +63 915 857 5603 to take part.

Our next festival gathering (utsav)
Details to be addedDetails of our next utsav — a joyful seasonal festival open to families of every background — will be posted here as plans come together. In the meantime, our events page shows the festivals we celebrate through the year.

Observing the International Day of Yoga in Makati
Volunteers from our forming community joined an International Day of Yoga observance in Makati — sharing Surya Namaskar (sun salutations) and yoga in the spirit of well-being for all. It was a quiet, happy reminder that our first offerings can be for everyone, not only for ourselves.

Supporting the Chant Mahaveer celebration in Manila
Volunteers here joined the wider Hindu community to support the Chant Mahaveer celebration in Manila. Standing shoulder to shoulder with neighbours at a shared gathering was one of our very first steps together — and a small, real beginning for Seva in the Philippines.

A community begins to gather
A small circle of families and volunteers — swayamsevaks and sevikas — began coming together around the ideals of Sanskar, Seva and Sanghatan. There was no standing weekly shakha yet, and we didn't pretend otherwise — just the honest, hopeful beginning of HSS taking root here. (Since then, our first weekly shakhas have begun — see the update above.)

In their own words
Community stories & reflections
As families begin to take part, we hope to share short, first-hand reflections here — always with consent, never embellished. For now, these are gentle placeholders awaiting real voices.
A family's first shakha
A short reflection from a family on what it felt like to gather for the first time — in their own words. To be added once a family kindly shares one, with their consent.
Why I volunteer
A few honest words from a swayamsevak or sevika on why they give their time to Seva. To be added once a volunteer is happy to be quoted here.
Would you like to share your experience? Reflections are always welcome and always optional — reach out through our contact page, and nothing is published without your permission.
