HSS in Makati
We do not yet hold a regular shakha in Makati — and we won't pretend otherwise. But families in Makati are close to our two weekly gatherings in Metro Manila, and you are warmly welcome to join us, or to help start a Makati shakha of your own.
Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) is a voluntary, non-profit, cultural and educational Hindu community — gathering around three simple values: Sanskar (good character), Seva (selfless service) and Sanghatan (unity).
Makati is home to many Hindu and Indian-origin families, and we are often asked whether there is an HSS shakha (a weekly branch gathering) here. The honest answer, today, is: not yet. HSS in the Philippines is a new and forming community, and our two regular shakhas both meet elsewhere in Metro Manila. We would rather tell you plainly where things stand than invent a gathering that does not exist.
That said, Makati sits right in the heart of Metro Manila — a short trip from both of our weekly gatherings. If you and your family are in Makati, you are genuinely welcome to come along, and there is real scope, in time, to grow a shakha closer to home. This page will grow as that story unfolds.
Makati shakha — forming
There is no standing HSS shakha in Makati at present, and we have not fixed a regular venue or time here. What we do have is a warm welcome to our Metro Manila gatherings, and an open invitation to Makati families who would like to help bring a shakha closer to home.

Two free weekly shakhas in Metro Manila
Until a Makati shakha takes shape, these are the two gatherings closest to you. Both are free, both are open to all, and Makati families are only a short trip away — you can simply come along.
Main Shakha — Paco, Manila
Our all-ages family gathering at the Hindu Temple in Paco — yoga, games (khel), songs, stories and a closing prayer, for children, youth and elders together. Please note the temple kindly hosts us as a venue; it is not part of HSS.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Shakha
For children and young people, at the Crimarcel Basketball Court — games (khel), stories of courage and character, and good company. Named for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Help it happen
Could a shakha begin in Makati?
Every shakha in the world began with a few families deciding to gather. Makati could be next — and it will grow directly from the people who step forward here.
Bring a Makati shakha to life
If you live or work in Makati and would like a weekly gathering closer to home, we would love to hear from you. A shakha does not need much to begin: a handful of committed families, a safe open space, and a regular hour each week. We will support you with the rhythm, the activities and the wider HSS family — you bring the local heart. Until then, please join us at either Metro Manila shakha; there is a place for you already.
Legaspi Park in Makati has been floated as one possible spot for a future gathering — nothing more. To be completely clear: there is no confirmed HSS shakha, no regular day and no set time at Legaspi Park or anywhere else in Makati. We mention it only as a tentative idea, and we will publish real details here the moment anything is actually arranged. We will never advertise a gathering that isn't real.
The simplest first step is a message. Reach our pracharak (volunteer organiser) on WhatsApp at +63 915 857 5603 — tell us you are in Makati and how you would like to take part.
Everyone is welcome
Open to all Makati families
There is no membership fee and no test of belief at the door — only an invitation to grow in good character and to serve, in the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, the belief that the whole world is one family.
HSS is strictly non-political and entirely volunteer-run. Children take part alongside their parents, and our Balagokulam children's program brings heritage and values alive through games, yoga, stories and song.
A note on honesty
Other Hindu temples, associations and Indian-community groups in Makati do wonderful work, but they are independent of HSS — we would never claim otherwise. Where we have no shakha yet, we say so. What we can promise Makati families is a genuine welcome at our Metro Manila gatherings, and steady support if you would like to help start one here.
Makati, you're welcome
Come along, or help start a Makati shakha
Whether you would like to bring your family to a Metro Manila shakha this week, or dream of a gathering closer to home in Makati, the first step is the same — say hello. We'll help you find your place in our community.
